Spotlight: Bob Haney
Bob Haney understands that if you want to find the right answers, you need to ask the right questions. That is how the Prospect Heights native and experienced transactional and regulatory attorney approaches the array of complex matters he handles for his individual and corporate clients. By taking the time to fully understand each client’s unique concerns, circumstances, and objectives, Bob develops and implements thoughtful approaches and provides clear, actionable guidance that they can rely on with confidence.
With a diverse background that includes working for and with regulatory agencies and facilitating the development of long-term care facilities, Bob advises clients in a wide range of business transactions, commercial real estate, estate planning, and state regulatory matters.
Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Bob served as associate general counsel of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), where he worked on behalf of the Department to ensure compliance with both state and federal laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation Z, the Truth in Lending Act, RESPA, and Anti-Money Laundering regulations. He was also involved in guiding both the Department and the State of Illinois’ policy regulating virtual currency and blockchain technology.
As an attorney focused on problem-solving and responsive client service, Bob appreciates how GHU and his like-minded colleagues at the firm facilitate and support his efforts. He is a graduate of Illinois State University, where he received a degree in Finance, and earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law. A passionate sports fan, Bob lives in Elmhurst with his wife and two young children, and when not serving his clients or spending time with his family, enjoys reading and sports.
